With the recruiting contact period in full swing the Florida coaching staff will be out on the road once again Friday checking in on top targets. With official visitors heading to campus later today, the Gators will keep their efforts on the road light as they have to head back to Gainesville to welcome prospects for their weekend visits.

However, even with that being the case, there are a few prospects the staff is making it a point to see on Friday.

Wide receiver coach Kerry Dixon is expected to see Rivals100 wide receiver, and Auburn commit, Eli Stove before he heads to the Plains for his official visit. The Gators have long been working to flip of the four-star pass catcher. Stove will visit Florida the weekend following his Auburn visit and also is expected to see Miami for an official visit the weekend before National Signing Day.

After making his rounds in Louisiana on Thursday, Florida running backs coach Tim Skipper will be in Alabama on Friday. His target will be four-star running back LaMical Perine. Despite schools such as Alabama trying to get traction going with Perine, he is only planning to visit Florida the weekend of January 29th.

Defensive coordinator Geoff Collins is out in Mississippi today to see defensive back commitment Quincy Lenton. The three-star defensive back is planning to officially visit Florida the weekend of January 29th and has also mentioned plans to visit Ole Miss and Mississippi State in the past.

Defensive line coach Chris Rumph will stop by to see Florida’s most recent commitment and defensive tackle Shavar Manuel. The four-star is expected on campus next weekend for his official visit to Florida and has mentioned a visit to Florida State the weekend of January 29th as well. It’s unknown at this time if Manuel still plans to go through on his visit to see the Seminoles.

With the Gators already having two early enrollee quarterbacks in the 2016 class, that leaves offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier free to turn his attention to 2017 prospects. On Friday he is checking up on 2017 athlete CJ Cotman and 2017 running back Adarius Lemons. The duo are two of the top prospects in the Tampa area for the 2017 class.
