Saunders hosts Muschamp

University of Florida football head coach Will Muschamp is visiting schools and making housecalls- rounding up prospects to turn them into signees in enough time to have them on hand for spring practice.
Along those lines, three-star safety prospect De'Ante Saunders received a visit from Muschamp Thursday morning at Deland High School.

"I got to talk to Coach Muschamp this morning. He was just telling me about how he is excited to get started coaching and that he's looking forward to the 2011 recruiting class," said Saunders. "We talked about some of the other Florida guys, Jeff [Driskel], Nick [Waisome], A.C. Leonard and stuff."
Saunders will be making an official visit Friday, December 17.
"I'll be up there at the 3'o'clock practice and just staying the rest of the weekend. Mike Gillislee will be my host," he said. "Mike and I are like brothers, we've known each other since we were kids."
The 6-foot 180-pound safety is one of several Florida recruits who have decided to enroll early and jump into the program.
"I'm excited to get started. It was kind of hard to graduate early, I had to take two online classes to do it so hopefully, you know, it's worth it," said Saunders.
"(Coach Muschamp) just told me that I got a big chance of getting on the field early and to be ready since everyone's going to be learning. He said whoever learns fastest is going to be starting, so hopefully that will be me."
In early January Saunders will particiapate in the Under Armour All-Americans Bowl on January 5, along with fellow UF commits Driskel, Waisome, Ja'Juan Story, Ryan Shazier and Leonard.
Because several Gator Under Armour All-Americans will be enrolling early the group is expected to attend orientation together at the University of Florida on January 7 immediately after the all-star game.
They will begin participating in spring practices two months later.
