Sherit ends the suspense, commits to Florida

The worst kept secret in recruiting came to light on Saturday evening as the Florida Gators landed their second Team Tampa Rivals1100 member of the week when Tampa (Fla.) Hillsborough defensive end Jordan Sherit pledged his commitment to the Gators.
As is becoming the trend, Sherit announced his commitment via Twitter:

"So blessed and privileged to announce that today I have committed to the University of Florida. Go Gators!"
On Thursday the 6-foot-5, 234-pound end visited Florida along with Team Tampa teammate Vernon Hargreaves III. While on that trip it was 'rumored' that both Hargreaves and Sherit let it be known that they would be part of Florida's Class of 2013.
While Hargreaves did indeed pledge later Thursday night, Sherit, on the other hand, remained mum about his commitment status.
Sherit, the No.94 rated prospect in the nation according to the Rivals100, visited UF again on Friday for Florida's Friday Night Lights Camp. He decided against participating, instead spending the night on the sidelines hanging around various prospects who were already committed to UF.
Now, on Saturday evening he has decided to let it be known that he will be joining them in Gainesville.
He picked Florida over offers from Florida State, Miami, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Stanford, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Cal and many others.
Stay tuned to Inside the Gators for more from Sherit as well as what his commitment means to Florida.
