One of the biggest questions heading into Florida’s season-opener against UMass on Saturday night in The Swamp is how the carries will be divided among the Gators’ running backs.

Florida hasn’t named a starter at the running back position, with sophomores Jordan Scarlett, Jordan Cronkrite and redshirt junior Mark Thompson listed as the top three options on its week 1 depth chart released Monday. However, Gators head coach Jim McElwain has said that the aforementioned three, redshirt senior Mark Herndon and freshman Lamical Perine will all see playing time in some shape or form this season.

With the Gators currently listed as a 36.5-point favorite over the Minutemen and widely expected to come out of Saturday’s contest with a resounding victory, there’s a strong chance we could see all five in action this weekend.
