Skipper goes one-on-one with four-star Davis

On Thursday University of Florida running backs coach Tim Skipper had an in-home visit with running back pledge Malik Davis. The newly minted four-star has been nothing but solid with his commitment since pulling the trigger last month.

He was excited to have some face time with his future position coach.

“It went pretty good,” stated Davis. “He came and we just talked about the school and just how it would be when I get there and how their program works and stuff like that. They talked about how I would have some of the best tutors to help me with class and everyone has to get their tutoring for one-on-one.”

Earlier in the day the news broke of running back Jordan Cronkrite deciding to transfer from the Florida. That was a subject Skipper touched on with Davis during the visit.

“We talked about that a little bit,” said Davis. “They just feel like I am different and I bring something new to the table. That is what they tell me. It was pretty good my parents got to ask any questions that they have and they got to get all their things answered tonight.”

Going forward the 5-foot-11, 187-pounder will officially visit Florida, his dream school growing up, after the dead period ends next month.

“It will be in January I think around the 20th,” said Davis of his visit. “I have been there many time and I probably will just talk to the players there already and see their point of view how school is from a day to day basis.”

On Friday Davis received an offer from new Oregon head coach Willie Taggart, formerly of South Florida. This was after Taggart offered Florida commit Zachary Carter on Thursday.
