What Happened: After pledging his commitment to the Gators back in May Autry was thought of to be a player that could contribute early on the Gators young and inexperienced offensive line. Fast-forward to this week when Inside the Gators mentioned this as a very real possibility in our Insider Recruiting Report after hearing reports around Coffeyville that weren't positive regarding the big man's season to date and dedication to conditioning. Finally it was Autry that went to social media this evening to announce that he has opened his recruiting process up.
What's Next: The Gators are still looking to possibly dip into the junior college ranks for an offensive lineman as they are recruiting, and recently visited tackles Malcolm Pridgeon and Ashton Julious. The Gators are pitching early playing time to both, but probably are in a better place for Julious at this time. From the high school ranks the Gators are also recruiting tackles Marcus Tatum, Brandon Walton, Richard Merritt and Jauan Williams.
Blake's Take: The high school prospects Florida is in best shape with - Tatum and Walton - are undersized at the moment and may take a while to become SEC ready. Thus the Gators could stand to land a lineman from the junior college ranks to mix with their young offensive line.
