Social Slant: Top corner down to two, visits Florida

After many failed attempts to make a trip to the University of Florida in the past, Atlanta (Ga.) Hapeville Charter cornerback William Poole III finally was able to make it down to the Sunshine State for a visit this past Friday. The Rivals100 member was able to spend the day touring the campus and then observe the Gators spring football practice as well.

What’s Next: The four-star defender has been planning to make an April commitment for some time now and has been focused on Florida and Georgia over the last several months. It’s unknown if Poole will take any other visits before pulling the trigger sometime next month. Over the course of the last several months Poole has shut down talking about recruiting and says he will not be doing interviews with the media.

Blake’s Take: Poole hasn’t been shy when talking about the pedigree of defensive backs the Gators have produced over the last several years and is definitely interested in Florida. However, his family is mostly Georgia fans and Poole’s been to Athens quite a few times in the past compared to the one lone visit to Gainesville. That alone tells me all I need to know about where he is going if and when a commitment does come next month.

Updated: Late Sunday Poole sent out a pair of tweets saying that he is no longer planning on making an early decision. That can be construed as nothing but good news for Florida - as it appears the visit to see the Gators gave him something to think about.
