No. 17 Florida (8-4, 6-2) doesn't square off against Iowa in the Outback Bowl for another three weeks, but there's plenty to discuss about this Gators football squad after its most recent string of games. Now, Inside the Gators takes a look at the current trends within the team with The Stock Report.

FLORIDA’S OPTIONS AT SAFETY IN 2017 (): Although Florida's defense is set to lose a number of starters after 2016, including Marcus Maye, the safety position is one Florida fans should feel confident about for the 2017 season. The emergence of redshirt junior safety Marcell Harris, who leads the team this year with 64 tackles to go along with a forced fumble, two interceptions and a sack, has been one of the biggest storylines for the defense during the second half of the year. When healthy, redshirt junior Nick Washington has also been a solid contributor for this group seeing starter's reps.

Where the versatile Chauncey Gardner plays in 2017 remains unclear, considering Florida is likely to lose starting corners Jalen "Teez" Tabor and Quincy Wilson, but in recent weeks Gardner has performed well for a true freshman at safety. In addition to Jeawon Taylor and Quincy Lenton adding depth as backups next season, Florida could also end up adding 1-2 more safety prospects in this 2017 cycle.
