WEEKEND INSIDER UPDATES & TIDBITS
In the past, if at all possible, Florida would avoid bringing official visitors in on a weekend such as this. A game with a noon start against a team that the Gators should run roughshod over. They would instead prefer that top kids come in against a better opponent when the atmosphere in the Swamp and surrounding the game would be expected to be much more electric (as will be the case when UF takes on LSU in two weeks).
With that being said, this is the bye week for two of the three official visitors, and the only time they can take an official visit during their football season.
Basically, it was now or never if Florida was to get a certain five-star on campus for an official visit weekend during the season to watch a game this year.
The three official visitors will be joined by a handful of commitments, a couple of remaining 2013 targets and quite a few 2014 and 2015 targets.
Florida commitments due in on Saturday include: Crescent City (Fla.) Rivals100 defensive tackle Caleb Brantley, Tampa (Fla.) Wharton five-star defensive back Vernon Hargreaves III, Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland four-star linebacker Quinton Powell, Rivals250 defensive end Jordan Sherit and Rivals250 safety Nick Washington.
Two top remaining targets who are scheduled to be on hand are Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood Rivals100 defensive end Demarcus Walker and Guyton (Ga.) South Effingham three-star running back Joshua Mercer.
***Tune back in over the weekend for up-to-the minute updates and tidbits on the visitors***

The Skinny: Right now it appears to be a two horse race for Gilmore with Florida sitting right behind LSU. However Gilmore will have his mother with him on the visit, and she favors the Gators. With only a handful of prospects on hand this weekend visiting officially, expect Florida to roll out the red carpet for the Rivals250 member. It goes without saying, UF's current commitments will be working him on Saturday. He is scheduled his LSU official visit for November 3. |

The Skinny: Interestingly enough, for as highly sought after as Ramsey is, he picked up his offer from Florida late in the process. Despite being firmly committed to Southern Cal (his words), he has decided to take a visit to Florida this week along with teammate and Florida commit Max Staver. The Gators have actively been recruiting the Rivals100 member and hope to maybe sway his decision when they finally get him on campus this weekend. The word is, he might be thinking about staying closer to home, rather than take his game all the way out to the west coast. USC is scheduled to get his final visit. |

The Skinny: While the signal caller will not be the only Florida commit on campus this weekend, he will be the only one taking his official visit. With the weekend off from high school football Staver will most likely be busy trying to persuade his Rivals100 teammate Ramsey to join him as part of the Gators Class of 2013. Other than that, there is no drama involved for Staver or the quarterback position. He is solid in his commitment to the Gators and UF isn't looking at any other quarterbacks in this class. |
