Williams decides on Florida

Though he isn't yet rated by Rivals.com, 6-foot-4, 226 pound linebacker Gerald Williams out of Lauderdale Lakes (Fla.) Boyd Anderson has an impressive list of suitors with Miami, LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Florida State and others already having extended offers.
On Monday Williams and his best friend, defensive lineman Vladimir Richard, decided that Florida was the best place for them.

"That's the second time we were up there at camp. The first time last month we knew it offered us everything we wanted but we were like we needed to go again to make sure. We liked it, we were comfortable there, we liked the coaches and we wanted to play together. We had those three things going on for us and we knew that's where we wanted to be."
Last week linebacker commitment Kalvin Baker told InsidetheGators.net that he was going to the RSC to have fun, but that he was also going so that he could talk to some other players about the Gators. We told you in the Sunday update that both Williams and Baker were hanging out a lot during the camp.
"He said he had Florida in his heart and told me that he wanted to try to get all of us up there to make a big change and win a championship. He told me we could be playing side-by-side at linebacker for the Gators if I committed."
Last year, as a junior, Williams recorded 132 tackles, 4 interceptions, 6 sacks and 16 tackles for loss.
With a 3.02 GPA he is on track to qualify.
