Inside the Gators

After three games, head coach Jim McElwain is making a change at quarterback. McElwain announced Monday that redshirt junior Luke Del Rio will start Saturday’s game against Vanderbilt.

The change at starting quarterback comes after Del Rio replaced redshirt freshman Feleipe Franks late in the third quarter last week against Kentucky. The Gators trailed 24-14 when Del Rio entered the game. On his first drive, he threw an interception. UK increased its lead to 27-14 before Del Rio led a 14-point rally in the fourth quarter. In his first appearance of the season, Del Rio finished 9-of-14 for 74 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
