Workout warrior Cragin getting attention

Fort Walton Beach (Fla.) Choctawhatchee outside linebacker Josh Cragin is hoping that his standout performance at several summer camps and combines has put him on the path to receiving offers from several major college programs. Earlier this year the 6-foot-1 ½, 208-pound workout warrior was one of the top prospects at the Baton Rouge NIKE Camp and then he followed that up by getting outstanding feedback at the Florida and Alabama camps.
The counselors at that NIKE camp choose him as the third best player at the linebacker position, ahead of Earl Patin, who has offers from the likes of Florida, Auburn, LSU and Clemson.

Cragin feels as though his offers will come in time, especially since he took the initiative by going out to 'audition' for several programs over the summer.
"I went to camps at Troy, Southern Miss, Alabama and Florida," said Cragin. "Alabama was real good. I ran a 4.5 (forty) there and coach (Joe) Kines loved me because of my speed."
While a 4.5 is impressive, he one upped himself at the Gators Friday Night Lights camp.
"At Florida I ran a 4.44 on a wet field twice in a a row. The first time I ran it the coaches looked at me kind of weird and then coach (Chuck) Heater told me to run it again. I ran the exact same time."
According to Cragin, speed is definitely the name of his game.
"My speed is what coaches have talked about. They haven't seen me on the field because my coach and I haven't had the time to get together to make a tape and get it (sent) out. My mom and I are going to try to do it and send it out ourselves."
Although they haven't had a chance to see him on film, college coaches still have him on their radar.
"I'm getting a bunch of mail from NC State," was Cragin's reply when asked who has been showing the most interest lately. "There's still Alabama, Florida State, Florida, Georgia Tech, Southern Miss. I'm hearing from them, but I'm waiting on my first offer.
"After every camp coaches have told me that they will be by to see me in the first or second week of the season. That's when I'll probably start getting them."
