Greg Knox, who spent the last nine seasons with Dan Mullen at Mississippi State, is one of Florida’s newest coaching hires. I sat down with Brett Hudson of The Commercial Dispatch to find out more about Knox’s stint in Starkville. You can follow Brett on Twitter (@Brett_Hudson) for all the latest news surrounding Mississippi State athletics.

What did Knox’s players at Mississippi State usually have to say about him and what did they think about him?

Hudson: "Knox was a well-liked guy by pretty much all players beforehand, but since he took over as the interim coach, he took on a new level of adoration. He mentioned several times he had some experience in this as MSU’s special teams coordinator, but there was clearly something about him that really took well to speaking to an entire team as opposed to just one position. Some of that may have been influenced by the emotional factors of Mullen leaving and Knox being the face of stability for them, sure, but clearly Knox gave the players what they needed in the weeks leading up to the TaxSlayer Bowl."

Would you consider Knox a player’s coach, and if so, what kind of relationship did he have with his players?
