Five on the Spot
Andrew Olson
Inside the Gators

Coming off a thrilling win over Tennessee, No. 20 Florida (1-1, 1-0 SEC), travels to Kentucky (3-0, 1-0 SEC) for a division showdown. As UF tries to get to 2-0 in conference play, these five Gators are On the Spot this week.

Freshman defensive back C.J. Henderson

If starting cornerback Duke Dawson, currently in concussion protocol, cannot go on Saturday, Henderson will start opposite Marco Wilson at cornerback. Henderson has already seen significant playing time as part of the secondary rotation. A co-leader in interceptions (2), Henderson has shown a knack for making plays with a pair of pick-sixes.

As impressive as Henderson has been so far, having him start as a primary outside cover corner for a whole game would be a big step up. Even if Dawson gets the OK to play, Henderson will likely see increased playing time having practiced this week in Dawson’s place.
