Five-star deciding between two for fifth and final official visit
On Monday Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian five-star cornerback Shaun Wade was presented his Army All-American jersey during a ceremony at his high school.
The Ohio State commit had been a longtime pledge to the Army game, and was excited to make things official with his jersey presentation in front of family, coaches, and friends.
“It’s crazy getting this jersey knowing that I only have a few months left in Jacksonville because I will be enrolling early,” said Wade. “Getting this jersey really showed me that college is coming soon. I am excited to play in this game and meet all the players and play in front of the troops. My father was in the Navy, so this game is special to me.”
So far this fall Wade has officially visited Notre Dame, Ohio State and Virginia Tech. This coming weekend he plans to visit Alabama for their Iron Bowl match-up against Auburn.
“I’ve never stayed there before and went out with the players or really interacted with the players like that, so that’s the main thing,” said Wade of the upcoming Crimson Tide. “I want to talk with Nick Saban and meet with him and the other coaches. They have some guys leaving this year, but really they are saying the year after when Ronnie [Harrison] and Minkah [Fitzpatrick] leave they won’t really have anyone, so that is chance to make some plays. Most of my family on my mother's side is from Tuscaloosa and Montgomery.”
