The last time the Rivals100 was updated back in May, Florida was sitting at #30 in the team recruiting rankings with just six commitments - none of whom were ranked in the top 100.

Things certainly change quickly in recruiting.

When the updated Rivals100 was released on Monday afternoon Florida was sitting at #9 in the team recruiting rankings with 17 pledges and two of them included in the top 100.

Though he took his long expected slide from five-star status, it wasn't as much of a fall as some may have expected as Long Beach (Calif.) Poly quarterback Matt Corral moved down 30 spots, from #7 to #37 overall.

In a clear cut case of the Rivals rankings 'taketh away' and the Rivals rankings 'giveth back', while Corral tumbled, Metairie (La.) Rummel wide out Ja'Marr Chase was one of the biggest gainers. He moved up 99 spots, from #149 to #50 overall.

After signing but one Rivals100 member last cycle (Zachary Carter), if these current rankings hold steady, rise or even fall just slightly, the Gators could actually land 4-5 at the very least this time around.

Listed below are the 12 Rivals100 members Florida is most involved with, but keep in mind there are another handful who could have been included.

Tyreke Johnson

Florida has been hot and cold on him for what seems like forever now. The more the Gators get involved, the better their chances are. It likely comes down to UF, UGA and UCLA in the end

Despite his commitment to Miami he visited Florida over the summer and says that the Gators are for sure going to get an official visit this fall. That is about as good a standing as you can hope for at this point

William Barnes

Florida and North Carolina continue to battle for Barnes. He will continue to visit both during the season. This is still a toss-up

You can call this the Corral Effect. Florida has entered the picture for this Nebraska commit thanks in large part to Matt Corral recruiting him. It will be interesting to see if the Gators can get him on campus for a game or two this fall

Surprisingly Florida made the cut when he narrowed his list to a final seven. At this time though the Gators are closer to the bottom of that list than they are the top

Florida has steadily worked their way into contention here. The more prospects they land from his high school (American Heritage), the better they may be positioning themselves for Campbell

Despite his lofty ranking, he isn't as high on Florida's board as some others who appear below him in the rankings.

LSU and Florida State are the leaders and have been for a while. Then you have Florida back there among a handful of schools trying to work their way into a visit this fall

He has a top five consisting of two in-state schools (Alabama/Auburn) two Sunshine State schools (Florida/Florida State) and Clemson. He didn't make it to Gainesville over the summer, we'll see if he makes it in this fall. A betting man would wager on him staying in-state

DT

Florida just offered him late last month. He is interested in the Gators. As is the case with others in this category, will his interest turn into an actual visit is the question

DE

Though he is committed to Alabama, he grew up a Florida fan and has come right out and said that the Gators are in second place. Getting him on campus will be key

DE

After decommitting from LSU (after earlier decommitting from Georgia), he put Florida on his list, but has yet to visit. He likely stays in the SEC East at UGA or Tennessee for now
