Florida tight end Kalif Jackson announced Sunday that he plans to transfer from the program. Jackson made his announcement via Twitter.
Jackson was a part of former coach Jim McElwain's 2015 class, but in the note above, Jackson thanks Will Muschamp and Derek Lewis for recruiting him. There was a strong indication Saturday that Jackson, listed as a redshirt sophomore on the roster, would be leaving the program when he participated in the team's Senior Day.
The Fletcher (Jacksonville, Fla.) product played in the final two games of the 2016 season and made the SEC Academic Honor Roll in both 2015 and '16. As a graduate transfer, he will be able to play immediately in 2018 with two remaining years of eligibility.
