Florida players unfazed by Georgia's start, point to recent rivalry wins
Georgia (7-0, 4-0 SEC) is currently ranked No. 3 and has the college football community debating whether two SEC teams (UGA and Alabama) could make this year’s College Football Playoff. In head coach Kirby Smart’s second year, the Bulldogs have far and away been the most dominant team in the SEC East.
Florida, meanwhile, is 3-3 after to back-to-back home losses. Four of the six games have been decided by six points or fewer, which means the Gators could easily be 1-5 if not for a few key breaks. The players, however, are talking more like it should be 5-1. It’s also safe to say the Bulldogs will have plenty of bulletin board material.
"We haven't lost to Georgia in the last three years, our seniors have never lost to Georgia so I think that mentality they bring, being that they've never lost to Georgia, that brings a lot of confidence to us, just knowing that Georgia isn't a team that we lose to,” sophomore wide receiver Josh Hammond said. “So I think that's the message in the locker room right now:
