On Friday that day finally came as the 2018 three-star pass catcher decided to pull the trigger and commit to the Florida Gators over finalists Miami and Ohio State.

“He committed this morning and is really excited about it,” said St. Petersburg head Coach Joe Fabrizio. “I am sure he’s had some good conversations with his parents about Florida and how it’s the best fit for him with the system they run.”

The Florida coaching staff already knew this good news was coming after head coach Jim McElwain and offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier stopped by Williams' high school this morning. It was then that Coach Fabrizio relayed the good news from his prized wide out since Williams was not able to talk with the coaches due to NCAA rules.

“They were excited knowing he was going to commit to them and they are hoping he is a guy that can get the rest of that recruiting class moving towards going to Florida.”

On the field this past season, the 5-foot-11, 183-pounder made an impact playing several positions for his high school. During his junior season Williams compiled 1,192 All-Purpose yards making an impact in the passing, rushing, receiving, and return game. He also tallied 27 solo tackles playing defense.

According to Coach Fabrizio the Gators are getting an incredibly talented utility player.

“He is one of the best athlete I have probably ever coached because he has the ability to play just about any position you ask him to. This is a kid that is a three sport athlete this year with football, track, and basketball. He is pretty well rounded.”
