KISSIMMEE, Fla. | Although the SEC has two schools – Georgia and Alabama – playing in this season’s College Football Playoff, Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley Prep star Nick Petit-Frere is not beholden to playing in the country’s premier league.
With just a little more than a month to go before National Signing Day, Petit-Frere said Sunday that his college choices are “all the schools who have recruited me.” At last count, Rivals had the hulking 6-foot-5, 265-pound offensive lineman considering 21 schools, including the University of Florida. At least one other media outlet has Petit-Frere looking at five schools very closely: Michigan, Notre Dame, Alabama, Auburn and Florida.
He has already visited Michigan and Notre Dame, but isn't yet sure of his final three visits, who will get them or the dates.
What he is focused on now is his last high school football game.
Currently preparing for the 11th annual Under Armour All-American Game in Orlando, Petit-Frere said he has no timeline established for releasing his final list of schools or his final choice. “I want to get through this amazing weekend, this great talent (pool) of kid,” said Petit-Frere, who was mobbed by reporters following the first practice session at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports.
