Recruiting Wire: Florida to see new quarterback on Monday

With Florida's quarterback board currently consisting of two prospects who are committed elsewhere, the Gators will visit with Norton (Ks.) three-star Jace Ruder on Monday.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound dual-threat quarterback was committed to Tulsa, but has reopened his process. He has offers from Georgia, Florida State and North Carolina among others.

This evening Lithonia (Ga.) Miller Grove three-star defensive end Caleb Tannor released his top five schools via Twitter.

Nashville (Tn.) Magnet 2019 athlete Jashon Watkins has been committed to Florida once, and on the verge of committing another time, but is still on the market.

He plans on taking a visit to Notre Dame this summer and says that two programs currently stand out to him.

Florida has extended an offer to Florida State commit Patrick Joyner - a 6-foot-2, 205-pound defensive end out of Homestead (Fla.).

Raleigh (N.C.) Sanderson three-star defensive tackle Alim McNeill had good things to say about Florida after visiting the Gators last month.

However, that didn't keep Florida from being eliminated when he released his top 10 on Thursday evening.

For the second time this week a four-star running back that Florida is recruiting has come back on the market by decommitting from his current choice.

This time it is Bainbridge (Ga.) Rivals250 back Dameon Pierce - who has decommitted from Alabama.

Snellville (Ga.) South Gwinnet cornerback Terrell Smith is currently committed to Minnesota, but after speaking with Florida assistant coach Corey Bell today, he received an offer from the Gators.

The Gators also extended an offer to Buford (Ga.) 2018 running back Anthony Grant Jr.

On Tuesday Inside the Gators ran an update on Florida tight end target Kyle Pitts (Fast rising tight end talks upcoming Florida visit)- referring to him as a rising prospect.

On Wednesday Rivals analysts called him one of the prospects from the Mid-Atlantic whose stock is rising.

Later on Tuesday evening more Florida offers extended throughout the day came to light. Here is a look at two of them.

* 2019 Loganville (Ga.) Grayson wide receiver Kenyon Jackson.

* 2020 Carrollton (Ga.) outside linebacker Kevin Swint.

A few more afternoon offers handed out by Florida:

* Buford (Ga.) 2019 running back Derrian Brown.

* Powder Springs (Ga.) Hillgrove 2019 four-star cornerback Jaylen McCollough

* 6-foot-4, 310-pound offensive guard Harry Miller is the third offensive lineman from his high school offered by Florida today.

From Chad Simmons: Florida is one of several schools in the southeast who is still recruiting four-star linebacker Otis Reese. Despite the fact that he remains committed to Michigan, the Leesburg (Fa.) Lee County standout is still listening to others.

I posted some JUCO rankings last week in the Alley that showed defensive end Dorian Gerald as the #3 JUCO in the nation and commenting that he was picking up offer after offer.

Well, today Florida joined in the action.

Florida was thought to be one of the teams in the running when out of nowhere Melbourne (Fla.) Holy Trinity four-star running back Jashaun Corbin committed to Tennessee.

Not long after that commitment, Florida stopped by his high school to check in on him this spring.

Today, Corbin decided to re-open his recruiting process by decommitting from the Volunteers.

Rivals southeast analysts Woody Wommack and Chad Simmons take a closer look at five prospects who are seeing their stock soar and two who are going in the opposite direction.

Two Florida targets are among those whose stock is rising.

Florida has offered a pair of 2019 teammates from the Peach State so far this morning:

* 6-foot-5, 295-pound Buford (Ga.) offensive tackle Carter Colquitt.

* 6-foot-4, 290-pound Buford (Ga.) offensive guard Riley Simonds.

For the second time in two weeks Florida's quarterback board took a bit of a hit with a top target deciding to go elsewhere. This time it is Lawrenceville (Ga.) Central Gwinnett three-star Jarren Williams coming off the board with his decision to recommit to the Kentucky Wildcats.

Williams first decommitted from Kentucky after he visited Florida back in April. The Gators have been by his high school twice this spring, but in the end, he turned down Florida, Georgia and Florida State to remain with the Wildcats.
