Miami Hurricanes Rivals100 wide out commit Mark Pope told Rob Cassidy on Saturday that he plans on taking two official visits this fall, including one to Florida.

Florida three-star wide receiver commit Tyquon Thornton may have grown up a fan of Florida and is currently pledged to the Gators, but the Miami (Fla.) BTW product says that he wants to still take a visit to see the Miami Hurricanes.

Though Florida wasn't included in a top five he released in July, it was still thought that the Gators were a factor for Seffner (Fla.) Armwood four-star defensive lineman Malcolm Lamar.

While Florida may still be involved down the road, on Friday evening he committed to Oregon.

Today, August 1, is the first day that colleges can 'officially' extend an offer to a prospect. Up until today, all offers extended were verbal, but starting today, for a prospect to have an official offer from a college, it is in writing.
