It wasn't exactly a marquee match-up, but that didn't stop Vero Beach (Fla.) Rivals250 linebacker David Reese, a Florida commit, from making the trip north to watch his Gators dismantle UAB on Saturday afternoon.

And, he will return again next weekend for the big rivalry game with Florida State.

After the game the 6-foot-2, 210-pounder shared his thoughts on the visit, his commitment, Florida's coaching search and more.

HOW WAS THE FLORIDA VISIT? “It was good. It's always good to be back in the Swamp to see the coaches again.

IT WAS YOUR FIRST VISIT WITHOUT JIM MCELWAIN BEING HERE – WAS IT DIFFERENT? “It's a little bit different atmosphere, but everyone's objective still is to win.”

WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE OF THE TRIP? “I came to spend more time with my coaches. See my future teammates, future coaching staff. Just be around the program again."

WHY DOES HE REMAIN COMMITTED TO THE GATORS? “To me it's loyalty. A [head] coach is over the program, but in the end the players are what makes the wins come.”

DO YOU HAVE A PREFERENCE ON A NEW COACH? “Whoever hey choose, I'm fine with it.”

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF CHIP KELLY? “I don't even know him to be honest. I have no knowledge of who that is.”

WHAT HE WANTS FROM A NEW COACH: “As long as he can get the offense to score touchdowns, that's all I'm worried about because I'm pretty sure the defense is going to look the same.”

FOR THE MOST PART THE COMMITS IN THE CLASS OF 2018 HAVE REMAINED SOLID: “We are just all on the same page and we keep winning in our mind - that is our main goal and objective.”

WHAT OTHER SCHOOL IS RECRUITING HIM: “Mississippi State (David's brother Stewart is an offensive lineman there). They want me in the program and see me playing a lot of minutes.”

ANY VISITS? “I don't really know yet. I still haven't scheduled it all.”

WHAT ARE FLORIDA COACHES SAYING TO YOU? "They are just telling me that I am a big part of this class, and this program and that I can come in and change things. I just have to realize what's at stake and how big the picture is and just stay committed.”

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN THE NEW STAFF TAKES OVER: “I can't really say. If it's another coach that comes in and I mean that I'm not a priority or he doesn't see me playing in his scheme or something like that then I have to do what's best for me.”

WHAT FLORIDA AD SCOTT STRICKLIN SAID: “They are working on picking the best guy possible and keeping as much as the staff as they can.”
