ORLANDO, Fla. | When the No. 1-ranked dual-threat quarterback in the nation advised Emory Jones that the University of Florida was “a great fit” for the Georgia high school star, the Gator-signee knew he had made the right choice.
Jones’ flip from Ohio State to Florida impressed a lot of folks, including top-ranked signal-caller Justin Fields, who signed with Georgia on Dec. 20, the first day of the Early Signing Period.
Like Jones, Fields hails from Georgia.
“The day before signing day, Justin told me he thought it (Florida) was a good fit for me,” said Jones on Saturday during Media Day of the Under Armour All-American Game at the Orlando Marriott World Center. “He said he’ll hate playing against me, and I’ll hate playing against him.”
