Weekend Visitor Preview

After almost a full month since playing their last game in the Swamp, Florida is finally set to return to the confines of their home for their Homecoming Game against the Missouri Tigers.

The Gators will have quite a few big targets in the stands to watch. Here's a closer look at a few of the prospects expected in.

Several of UF's verbal commitments will be on hand for the game. Three-star defensive tackle Jordon Scott will make yet another visit to Gainesville as he has been to almost all of the Gators home games this season. Scott has been solid to UF and plans to officially visit the weekend of the South Carolina game.

Another Florida commit that has been a regular visitor this fall and is expected in yet again is four-star cornerback Marco Wilson. He will be accompanied by his family when he arrives Saturday morning.

The Gators are also expecting their Southridge High School pledges - Kemore Gamble and Shawn Davis to make the trip up from Miami. The two have mentioned taking visits to others schools, but have only made visits to The Swamp this fall.

Lakeland (Fla.) Kathleen linebacker and Gators commit Ventrell Miller will make his first visit to Florida of the fall.

The Gators also expect both of their 2019 commitments - defensive tackle Jaquaze Sorrells and Jaleel McRae - in for the game. Both have attended all of Florida’s home games this season.

The biggest uncommitted target for the Gators in the class of 2017 expected in this Saturday is Lawrenceville (Ga.) Grayson four-star offensive tackle Tony Gray. The Gators have a big need along the offensive line and have hosted this Peach State native on campus a few times.

Overall Gray has seemed very open with his recruitment.

The Gators also expect quite a few huge names for the upcoming 2018 recruiting class as well this weekend. Headlining that group is Rivals100 running back Lorenzo Lingard. This is the four-stars second visit to Gainesville this fall, with his last visit being the blowout win against Kentucky. Auburn, Alabama, Florida State, and Miami have all been mentioned in contention for Lingard.

Another huge visitor from the 2018 class expected on Saturday is Rivals100 offensive tackle Reuben Unije. Offensive line is a position the Gators have been hitting hard early for the next cycle and Unije ranks very high on the Gators wish list.

Miami (Fla.) Southridge 2018 wide receiver Mark Pope will join his teammates Davis and Gamble on the visit to UF this Saturday. Alabama and Florida currently are the top two teams in contention for this Rivals100 pass catcher.

Another top 100 pass catcher expected in this weekend from the 2018 class is Seffner (Fla.) Amrwood wide receiver Warren Thompson. This four-star has made it to quite a few Florida games this fall. He seems very high on the big three school in the Sunshine State.

A few other name expected in from the 2018 class that should be noted are Florida State commit Charles Strong, Miami commit DJ Ivey, four-star wide receiver Jermaine Eskridge, 2018 wide receiver Jalynn Williams, and 2018 athlete Kearis Jackson.

Targets/Commits Visiting Elsewhere

* Alabama offensive tackle commit Alex Leatherwood will visit Georgia

* Cornerback target Christopher Henderson will officially visit Tennessee

* Defensive end target LaBryan Ray will visit Tennessee this weekend

University of Florida Official Visitors: October 14th 2016

Interest: Medium

Others: Oklahoma, Ohio State, Penn State, and Texas A&M

The Skinny: The Gators have been mentioned by this four-star for some time now, but are just now getting him on campus for the first time. Florida assistants Geoff Collins and Randy Shannon have relationships with Hines dating back to their previous jobs they had before coming to Florida. Heading into the visit this weekend it seems Texas A&M is the team to beat here.

Interest: Medium

Others: Michigan, North Carolina, and Oklahoma

The Skinny: The Gators have been looking to bolster their offensive line this cycle and have long been in contact with the nation's top offensive center. So far Ruiz has officially visited both North Carolina and Michigan and aims to visit Oklahoma next month for an official visit. Heading into this weekend Michigan seems to be the team to beat.
