Wilson follows through, decommits from Florida

After Saturday's loss to Florida State, Miami (Fla.) Northwestern four-star cornerback commit Divaad Wilson was adament about the fact that if the Gators didn't retain interim head coach Randy Shannon as part of the new staff, he would decommit.

On Tuesday it was announced that Shannon wouldn't be held over on the new staff.

On Wednesday Dan Mullen had an in-home visit with Wilson.

On Thursday the south Florida product followed through on his pledge by decommitting via a Twitter post.

While you never want to lose a commitment from a prospect the status of Wilson, this is still a bit of a mixed bag for the Gators.

Florida not only started two true freshmen corners this past season in Marco Wilson and C.J. Henderson, but both look like they are potentially future All-SEC type of performers.

Also, with just over two months to go in this cycle, Florida is likely to remain a player for Wilson and - though they aren't front runners - are in the running for high end corners such as Patrick Surtain, Sevyen Banks (if they decide to pursue) and Tyson Campbell.
