2016 Midseason Review: Grading Florida's depth chart on offense

With the 2016 season at its midway point during the Gators' bye week, Inside the Gators now takes a closer look at No. 15 Florida (5-1, 3-1 SEC) by grading each of its contributors. Today, we start with the offense.

1. Luke Del Rio

C+

Del Rio's knee injury he suffered against North Texas proved to be a setback for what Florida wanted to do at the quarterback position. At times, Del Rio struggles with decision-making, forcing balls into double coverage, footwork and putting enough juice on his throws, but he's certainly been a mature leader for a still-growing offense.

2. Austin Appleby

C-

We now know why Appleby didn't win the starting job after leaving Purdue to join Florida as a graduate transfer. After a stellar first half at Tennessee, Appleby couldn't move the offense down the field for the rest of the contest. At Vanderbilt, he was highly inefficient and had trouble with making the proper reads.
