Marietta (Ga.) 2020 quarterback Harrison Bailey was one of the top performers who took part in the Florida Gators Sensational Sophomore Night on Thursday evening.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound freshman consistently delivered the ball with accuracy in the pocket and while throwing on the run, and proved that he was extremely comfortable performing drills with current and former Gator quarterbacks coaching him.

Overall, Bailey had a great time and was impressed with the atmosphere, coaching and turnout.

“I think the camp was very well organized,” state Bailey. “The quarterback camp was really fun with the other quarterbacks and the Sophomore Under the Lights was pretty fun. It was kind of crowded.”

Growing up as a life-long Florida fan, the Georgia native thinks highly of the University of Florida and expressed how hard the Gators coaching staff is pushing to land him.

“They just really want me to be a Gator and they want me to build a class and make Florida the team to beat.”

With two recruiting cycles between now and when he signs, and with programs such as Alabama, Florida, Clemson, and North Carolina in the mix for his services, the amount of quarterbacks on those rosters won't really play a factor in Bailey's decision and he isn’t afraid of the competition within top-tier programs.

“I mean it really wouldn’t play a big factor, unless it was a five star or something,” Bailey said. “But I mean I really wouldn’t care who they recruit because I love competing against other quarterbacks.”

The pro-style quarterback says that he might try to make it back to Gainesville in the fall, but isn’t entirely sure, and would really like to make his college decision sooner rather than later in his high school years.

“I’d like to decide by this time next year so I can start building a good class around me.”
