Three things we learned this weekend:
1. With Tennessee (5-3, 2-3 SEC) losing on the road 24-21 to South Carolina, Florida (6-1, 4-1 SEC) can clinch the SEC East divisional crown with at least two wins in its final three conference games.
The Gators became in control of their own destiny once they won against Missouri two weekends ago and Tennessee fell to Alabama - and now Florida's cushion atop the East standings is certainly improved under these latest developments. If Florida were to win at Arkansas this Saturday, it could clinch the East with a win over the Will Muschamp-led South Carolina Gamecocks, of all teams, on Nov. 12 in The Swamp on Senior Day.
Tennessee has Kentucky, Missouri and Vanderbilt left on its slate over the final three weeks of the regular season - a much easier conference slate than what Florida has remaining (Arkansas, South Carolina, LSU) - but the Volunteers have dropped three straight. Even before that point, Tennessee struggled against arguably inferior opponents like Appalachian State and Ohio and needed some luck to start the year 5-0, so it's no sure bet the Vols will go undefeated the rest of the way through - especially with how things have been trending lately.
