Though he was just officially announced as a new hire by Florida on Tuesday, on Wednesday new offensive line coach John Hevesy had already landed his first commitment for the Gators.

It came in the form of Plymouth (Pa.) Wyoming Valley three-star offensive tackle Chris Bleich, who decommitted from UCLA in order to pledge to the Gators.

When asked about the sudden change of heart, Bleich said it came about because of the Bruins' coaching change.

"The main thing was the firing of Coach [Jim] Mora because Coach Mora ran an offense that was suited for me, that felt really comfortable with everything known. Coach [Chip] Kelly is going to bring in an offense that's meant for the smaller, lighter linemen. I kind of know that's not my type of game style."

The 6-foot-5, 308-pounder holds offers from the Bruins, Penn State, Pitt, Louisivlle, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State and others.

It was the offer from the Bulldogs that allowed him to get to know Hevesy before he arrived at Florida and that comfort level led to Bleich flipping.

"Just how the coaches are with me. They feel like family. With the new coaching staff, I know they're going to be there for the time I'm there and I just feel really comfortable with that."

Bleich is new to the Florida board, so new that he hasn't set foot on campus yet. Though it happens, it isn't often that a prospect will commit to a program sight unseen. The big man though said there are two reasons why he believes it will be a fit for him.

"When my brother used to race motocross, we always used to be down in Florida. So, I'm kind of used to being in Florida itself. Then, I have family members that live right by the campus [in St. Augustine], too."

Bleich, who said that he is being recruited as both a tackle and center prospect, plans on signing with Florida on December 20th. He will visit Florida at some point soon, but is unsure of when that will be.
