2017 Recruiting Class Superlatives
Blake Alderman
Inside the Gators Recruiting Analyst

With Florida's Class of 2017 now signed, sealed and delivered it is time to carry out an annual tradition and pass out superlatives to the Gators' newest crop of players.

Immediate Impact Offensive Player

The Gators were looking to add some bodies to the offensive line that could jump into the rotation early. Miami (Fla.) Booker T. Washington offensive tackle Kadeem Telfort looks like he could certainly be a guy to do that. Getting Telfort enrolled early gives him the fast track to continue to add muscle to his frame as well as take much needed snaps during spring ball.

Immediate Impact Defensive Player

After taking multiple hits due to early departures to the NFL draft combined with players graduating - Florida's defense lost a lot of starters from this past season. The defensive tackle spot was a position Florida was especially thin at after failing to land any prospects in the 2016 class. Florida getting four-star Kyree Campbell in as an early enrollee will help numbers for the spring and will get Campbell the experience he needs. This is a guy that Florida is expecting to be in the rotation in the season opener against Michigan.

Best All-Around Athlete

Three-star Kadarius Toney, who will get a shot at quarterback this spring, brings a different dynamic to Florida’s offense. If quarterback doesn’t work out Toney is a guy who can find his way onto the field at another position because of how good of an athlete he really is. He played mostly quarterback in high school, but has also been used at slot wide receiver and defensive back in some situations.
