Here's a look at Florida's depth chart for the Gators season opener against Michigan.

* The obvious question is, does Feleipe Franks being listed first of the three have any meaning other than the fact that he left spring football as the leader at the position.
* At running back Malik Davis seemed to be ahead of Mark Thompson for much of the fall, but here Thompson is listed as a second stringer while Davis is listed with the third string.
* On Monday Jim McElwain talked about how big a plus it is for Florida that Tyler Jordan has the ability to play multiple positions. As you can see above, he is listed as the top backup at three different sports.
* Though seven 2017 signees (true freshmen) are listed on the depth chart, unless it is a blowout one way or the other, only three are likely to play. In order they are Kadarius Toney, Malik Davis and if healthy, Kemore Gamble.
* You have to believe that Jabari Zuniga being listed above Jordan Sherit has as much to do with Sherit's health status and being limited throughout camp as much as anything else.
* Florida has to cross their fingers while throwing pennies in a wishing well in hopes of prolonged good luck along the injury front this year. As it is, the Gators can't afford even normal attrition at defensive tackle, linebacker, cornerback or safety.
* Defensively Florida is young all over, but especially upfront where the Gators are starting only two seniors on defense. Both - Nick Washington and Duke Dawson - being in the secondary.
* Of the 10 players signed in the Class of 2017 who are listed on the depth chart, it wouldn't be at all surprising to see all 10 of them see action.
