Florida is in surprisingly good shape for Miller

Earlier this week Rivals analysts Chad Simmons and Woody Wommack broke down five prospects in the southeast who have seen their stock explode over the spring.

Headlining the list was Birmingham (Ala.) Jackson-Olin 6-foot-3, 295-pound strongside defensive end Coynis Miller

“I'm really not looking at my ranking, and stars and stuff,” replied Miller. “I just play my game and let whatever happens, happen. You know, I've seen some players ranked five-stars that played like they were two [stars]. I go out and play for me and my team, not stars.”

Not only has Miller caught the attention of recruiting analysts and services, but he has college coaches drooling over him as well.

He has offers from some of the top programs in the nation, including Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Michigan and others.

It is those first two offers that should concern out-of-state coaches hoping to pry him away. More often then not the Tide and the Tigers have their way when it comes to in-state prospects that they target.

That isn't a point lost on Miller.

“Since I'm from the state of Alabama, people take it that I am going to stay in-state, but I'm going to take my visits and see where I'm the most comfortable at and the coaches I'm comfortable with the most. That is what is going to play the biggest role in my recruiting.”

When high school spring football is put to bed this month, Miller plans on planning out his summer visit itinerary.

Despite the attention he has received from the in-state programs, surprisingly it is an out-of-state school who he is most sure will get a visit.
