From a recruiting and ranking standpoint Seffner (Fla.) Armwood wide receiver Warren Thompson entered the spring seemingly without much to prove or improve upon.
He is already rated inside the Rivals100, No. 47 overall in the nation and he already holds offers from every major programs coast-to-coast.
With that being the case, what's left to do?
“From working on my route running to being more prepared, I'm steady working on my craft this spring,” stated Thompson. “One of the goals is to get that fifth star, but if it doesn't come I'm still out here working hard to show coaches and other people that I am already competing at a college level. I'm not sitting back resting on what I've done.”
As he stated, not one to sit back and rest on his laurels, the 6-foot-2, 185-pounder has steadily built on his already sterling reputation with his participation in 7-on-7 tournaments, spring combines and spring practices.
“When I go out there I have players trying to build their rep by going against me, so I have to go out there and be dominant and show them I am a force to be reckoned with. Coach [Sean] Callahan is strict about recruiting and putting football first. He keeps us focused.”
According to Thompson, although he claims to be open, he said he feels as though six schools are recruiting him the hardest right now.
