Florida offers top JUCO defensive end
What a difference a year has made in the life of Santa Clarita (Calif.) College of the Canyons defensive end Dorian Gerald.
Originally from Florence, South Carolina the 6-foot-3, 255-pounder didn't have a single offer coming out of high school in 2015.
That has obviously changed in a big way.
After attending a prep school for a year, he decided to head out west.
“If I have to pay for it, I wanted to go somewhere I have never been before,” said Gerald of his decision to hit the left coast.
Last year as a freshman he was second on his team with 54 tackles – an incredible 24 of them being behind the line of scrimmage. He also added 12 sacks and four forced fumbles.
Since then, life has taken a turn for the better to put it mildly
Gerald already has offers from the likes of Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma and South Carolina.
“It's everything I've hoped for and dreamed of,” stated Gerald. “Hard work, prayer and being around great people have finally paid off. I knew it was going to come, but I didn't know it was going to come this fast.”
On Tuesday Florida joined the offer parade.
