Four-star Burney talks final three
CLEARWATER, Fla. – It is almost decision time for four-star athlete/safety Amari Burney, the nation's No. 154 player. A June 1st decision date is closing in and Burney wants to announce that date to honor his late grandfather who was born on the first.
Burney has close to 20 reported offers and a lot of options on the table. While he has not announced a final list of schools at this point it does sound like he has three on top.
"Just yesterday my parents and I sat down and talked about a couple of schools that I was really looking at," Burney said. "Florida, Ohio State and Virginia Tech. They are probably the top three right now."
And what might one of those three schools be getting with Burney?
"Really a lot of speed. 4.3 40 (yard dash)," Burney said. "Big size, I just gained like five pounds so I am about 212-pound right now. On the defensive side, I can come down and hit you at safety."
