On Thursday safety Marcell Harris made official what had been speculated on for weeks, he won't return to Florida next season but will instead make himself eligible for the NFL Draft.

Though the outcome wouldn't have been a given, there was the possibility that Harris could have petitioned the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility after missing the entire 2017 season with a knee injury.

Coming off a breakout 2016 season, in which he recorded 73 tackles while also recording two interceptions, Harris was expected to have a major impact for Florida in 2017. However, a knee injury in late July kept him sidelined for the entire year.

In his three seasons Harris played in 37 games, starting nine.
