ITG Subscriber Mailbag, Pt. 3: Looking at Florida's depth on defense

With spring practices in the books, Inside the Gators saw its subscribers submit a number of questions they had about the Florida football team. After running part 1 on Thursday and part 2 on Friday, today we answer questions about key contributors on defense.


From g8rhoo: Is Kyree Campbell a legit option as a third defensive tackle? Was there any discussion of moving Jachai Polite inside?

Watnick: I’m going to see more from Florida’s backups at defensive tackle behind Khairi Clark and Taven Bryan before I make any definitive statements answering that question. Who knows, Tedarrell Slaton or Elijah Conliffe could come in during the summer and end up being a key contributor. However, I do believe Campbell is a player who will see action as a true freshman. At 6-foot-3, 323 pounds, he already has good size to play at that position. After working with the 2’s all spring, he looked pretty good in the spring game going up against the first-team offensive line, in my opinion.
