Doesn't it seem like Florida has been recruiting Copeland for almost a decade now? Yes, the Gators were the first to offer way back when, but even with that being the case, this recruiting process seems like it has gone on for forever and a day. Either way, it will end on Wednesday when he signs with either Alabama or Florida. Since the Gators added Billy Gonzales to the staff, it feels as though this has been slowly trending Florida's way, but it is never a 'gimme' to take a Tide target.
At one point about a month or so ago, Florida was heavily trending upward, but now, even despite the visit this weekend, it doesn't appear that this match is going to happen. Watch out for Texas A&M here.
The fact that he made the visit is good news for the Gators, whose coaches have a pre-existing relationship with Lovett from their time in Starkville. However, it would take a being 'blown away' type of visit for Florida to pull him out of the Magnolia State in general, likely Starkville in particular.
