In the fifth segment of his five-part Parting Thoughts interview with Inside the Gators, former Florida quarterback Austin Appleby discusses a number of the position groups on Florida's 2017 roster and what the Gators need to do to get over the hump against Florida State and in the SEC Championship Game.

On Florida's running backs…

Appleby: I think there’s going to be a breakout in production in the running back room. There’s a lot pride in there. They feel maybe that they underachieved at times. They have a lot of pride for what they do. That’s what we want to do as an offense. We want to run the ball and set up our passing game.

On the tight ends…

Appleby: Who Coach McElwain is as a coach is a two tight-end guy. Coach Nuss has a two tight-end set. Power run team, push the ball down the field vertically. With C’yontai Lewis and (DeAndre) Goolsby, there’s a sense of urgency on them that they have to step up and be key pieces to the offense week after week. They flash at times, but I would really like to see them - I know they will - reach their full potential this year and I’m really excited for them.
