Social Slant: Offered by Florida on Friday, Davis ready to decide

On Friday Florida offered not long after visiting the school of Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit running back Malik Davis. The three-star rated prospect immediately put the Gators in his top three along with Miami and North Carolina. Now, less than a week later, the in-state back, who grew up a Gators fan, is ready to announce his commitment.

What’s Next: As stated in the tweet above, Davis will be announcing his commitment on Wednesday at Jesuit High School. His top three heading into the decision are Florida, Miami and North Carolina.

A commitment is expected to take place around 8:15 Wednesday morning.

Blake’s Take: Growing up a fan of the Orange & Blue, this offer from Florida is one that Davis had been hoping for since his recruiting process began. The Gators were only planning on taking one running back this cycle, but have since changed their stance with the future status of Adarius Lemons in question.

Florida will likely land a commitment from Davis tomorrow, but this does not mean the Gators are planning on parting ways with Lemons. Florida would gladly take two running backs in 2017.
