A quiet Saturday evening on the recruiting front was interrupted out-of-nowhere by this tweet from highly regarded 2019 Fort Myers (Fla.) Dunbar defensive end Derick Hunter.
The tweet, which includes the #GATA19 hashtag utilized by Florida and their 2019 commits, was liked and retweeted by a couple of Florida commits and targets, leading some in the Gator Nation to speculate that Hunter pulled the trigger and committed to Florida.
When asked via Twitter direct message what the tweet meant – Hunter simply replied 'It might be home.”
On Sunday 6-foot-5, 222-pounder, who is already seen as a four-star by some recruiting services, spoke with Inside the Gators to expand on that comment and talk about his recruiting process.
“No, I didn't commit," stated Hunter. "I like the Gators so I was showing them some love.”
