IN HIS OWN WORDS…

“I have a top eight of Virginia Tech, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Stanford, and Notre Dame,” Hollifield said. “I was at South Carolina last weekend. It was really fun. We did a big scavenger hunt around the campus. It was awesome. Everything is good with Virginia Tech, South Carolina, and North Carolina. They're all still the same.

“I loved the weather at Florida and Florida State,” he said. “I loved the coaching staff at both schools too. Playing time that I could there caught my attention. They're not very deep.

“I'm going to start the application process for Stanford this summer,” Hollifield said. “I'll be going to Stanford on May 19th. That'll probably be my last visit before the season.”

RIVALS’ REACTION

South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia Tech have been at the top of Hollifield’s list for months but now they have some company. Florida and Florida State did a great job with Hollifield during his visits but the one to watch here is Stanford. If his visit goes well later this month, keep an eye out for how quickly he gets through the application process. Notre Dame and LSU are still very much in the picture because of his relationships with the coaching staffs.
