With Florida (3-6, 3-5 SEC) back in The Swamp to host UAB (7-3) at 4 p.m. Saturday, Inside the Gators presents five questions worth considering for the non-conference clash.
1. Can Florida slow down Spencer Brown?
The UAB freshman is among the most productive running backs Florida’s defense will face this season. In 10 games, Brown has carried the ball 207 times for 1,177 yards. On average, that’s more than 20 times per game for over 117 yards (5.69 yards per carry). He has rushed for more than 100 yards six times this season including crossing the 150-yard mark three times. His best performance of the season came against Southern Miss, when he rushed for 209 yards on 33 carries. A two-star prospect from Morris, Ala., UAB was the only school to offer Brown.
Florida has struggled against the run as of late, giving up 200-plus rushing yards in four of the last five games. If it happens again, the Gators could be victims of an upset bid.
2. What happens at quarterback in case of emergency?
