Corey Gammage’s official visit itinerary consists of just one school. The Florida commit is confident that will change, but, for now, things or manageable. The only trip on the schedule is the one you’d expect.
“Right now, it’s just Florida,” Gammage said.
But the three-star wide receiver is working on adding to the list. He’s tentatively set his Gainesville trip for the Gators’ game against Tennessee and intends to build around that. So while he doesn’t have dates or times, he’s kicking around the idea of additional destinations.
“I’ve been talking with Auburn, Louisville, Virginia Tech, FIU, Illinois and a few more,” Gammage said. “I’m going to take visits. I just don’t know where yet other than Florida.”
Gammage says he remains solid in his pledge to UF. According to him, the other visits he intends to take will function as a final look around – and information gathering tour of sorts.
“I just want to see every teams offense and how they work,” he said. “That’s what the visits will be for.”
Gammage attends Delray Beach (Fla.) Atlantic High School. He’s ranked as the No. 61 wide receiver in the country and the No. 96 player in the state of Florida.
IN HIS WORDS:
-- “Florida want to use me out wide to stretch the field. That’s what they always talk about”
-- “I’m closest with [Florida assistant coaches] Ja'Juan Seider and Kerry Dixon. They are good coaches and you can talk to them pretty much about anything.” -- “I’m going to visit Florida on my bye week [Sept. 16] for a game and to check everything out again.”RIVALS REACTION: There’s no reason for Florida fans to fear flip here. At least not at the moment. Gammage will take other visits and maybe things will get dicey at that time, but that doesn't seem overly likely. Barring a disaster of a season or some unforeseen circumstance, the 6-foot-2 receiver is likely to sign with the Gators.
