Redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Brandon Sandifer is no longer with the team, Jim McElwain confirmed Monday during his press conference.

Sandifer wasn’t seen at Florida’s first three practices of the spring. He also didn’t make the trip with the team to the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta, and to the Outback Bowl in Tampa, for undisclosed reasons.

“He’s no longer with us,” McElwain said Monday. “He’s going to move on.”

From Jim McElwain’s 21-member inaugural class at Florida in 2015, Sandifer is the third player to transfer, following Daniel Imatorbhebhe and Jordan Cronkrite. D’Anfernee McGriff never qualified academically, while Andrew Ivie took a medical hardship in 2016.

A three-star signee from the 2015 class out of Warner Robins, Georgia, Sandifer redshirted in 2015 and appeared in two games last season against North Texas and Tennessee in a reserve role. As a summer enrollee in 2015, he notably lost more than 50 pounds in less than a year’s time.

Without Sandifer, Florida currently has 13 scholarship linemen on the roster who are expected to be available to play in 2017: Martez Ivey, Tyler Jordan, T.J. McCoy, Fred Johnson, Jawaan Taylor, Antonio Riles, Brett Heggie, Kavaris Harkless, Kadeem Telfort, T.J. Moore, Stone Forsythe, Nick Buchanan and Andrew Mike. Clemson offensive tackle transfer Jake Fruhmorgen will join the team in the summer, but he won’t be eligible to play until 2018.
