Friday Night Lights Countdown: #3 Hansard

The summer college football camp season comes to an end this week with Florida staging their annual Friday Night Lights Camp.

FNL, which can draw anywhere from 15 or more four and five star prospects, has long been considered one of the premiere college camps of the summer.

Even at an event such as this, for whatever reason, there's still a handful of prospects we are looking forward to seeing more than the others.

This week Inside the Gators will countdown the five prospects we most anticipate seeing on Friday night under the lights.

#3 Princeton (NJ) Hun School Rivals250 defensive tackle Fred Hansard

Competition: Alabama, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Pitt, Rutgers, Tennessee and Southern Cal

Analyst Reaction: “Hansard is big kid with good athleticism and light feet. While he needs to add some aggression and more of a mean streak, he’s a gap shooter who uses his quickness off the snap and some good hand technique to get into the backfield. He is athletic enough to line up outside in high school at times and I like the way he gets his hands up even when he’s not pushing the pocket to disrupt passing lanes.” – Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell

Blake’s Take: “Hansard recently dropped a list of nine schools that stick out to him, but it’s been Penn State and Rutgers who are getting the most buzz at this time. The Gators are looking to add another top tier defensive tackle to the mix in 2017 and have Hansard at the top of their board. Florida defensive line coach Chris Rumph has been very active in recruiting this four-star big man. This visit to Gainesville will be Hansard’s first ever, but he is aware of the pedigree of defensive linemen the Gators have put into the NFL over the years, which is something that factor’s high in his interest in the Orange and Blue.
