Gators gaining ground with four-star

At 6-foot-3, 215-pounds Vero Beach (Fla.) four-star linebacker David Reese looks like quite the physical specimen.

The good news for those college programs still in the running for him, he is every bit as athletic as he is physical.

That point was proven on Saturday when Reese won the Rivals Five-Star Challenge Gauntlet - a timed obstical course consisting of several different stations.

Though he came to Indianapolis to play football, Reese said he wasn't going to shy away from competing in whatever way possible.

“For me it's all about competing – they put me up for the Gauntlet and I'm not going to turn down the chance to compete and give my all," explained Reese. "It shows a big part of my game, being mobile and athletic. I don't want to be one of those linebackers standing prone and waiting for the play to come to me, I want to use my speed to go make plays. I am an athlete on the football field.”

He doesn't have to sell that point to college coaches, who have been beating down his door for over a year now.
