Griffin McDowell received offers from two different SEC schools during his recruiting process, both of them came from head coach Dan Mullen.
Although McDowell had committed to Mississippi State when Mullen was still the head coach there, he remained a Bulldog commit despite the coach’s departure to Florida.
The three-star offensive tackle from Leesburg (Ga.) was visited by Mullen and offensive line coach John Hevesy at his school in late January. After receiving an offer from the two coaches, McDowell went on an official visit to Gainesville the very next day.
Two days after concluding his visit, McDowell decommitted from Mississippi State and announced his commitment to Florida, joining kicker Evan McPherson as the only two Florida signees who flipped from Mississippi State to Florida.
Today it's time to learn a little bit more about McDowell on a personal level in this edition of Getting to Know.
