After a bye week, both Florida head coach Jim McElwain and Georgia head coach Kirby Smart are in game week mode with the annual border war in Jacksonville only days away.
The two friends and former colleagues previewed the match-up between the Gators and Bulldogs on the weekly SEC coaches teleconference.
* Smart doesn't concern himself with the "World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party" nickname. It's simply the Georgia-Florida game to him.
* Smart notes that redshirt freshman quarterback Feleipe Franks may have shown Florida coaches that he's a capable runner after a 79-yard run against Texas A&M.
* Asked about 2014 game, Smart said he does not focus on past games.
* Isaiah Wynn has moved back and forth between tackle and guard in his career and is playing well at tackle this season.
* The Bulldogs are preparing for Florida quarterback Malik Zaire as Smart expects to see him play.
* Smart says it's rare to see running backs like Nick Chubb and Sony Michel both play unselfish.
* McElwain calls Florida-Georgia "a unique game, a fun game."
* The split atmosphere helps create constant momentum in McElwain's opinion.
* McElwain says Georgia's offensive coordinator Jim Chaney has done an outstanding job of spreading the ball around.
* McElwain compared Georgia's trio of running backs to when he coached Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson and Eddie Lacy at Alabama.
* Asked about death threats, McElwain called his comments "misguided remarks."
* On the death threats: "I feel bad sometimes for being open and being honest. At the same time, I've seen this movie and I understand it."
* McElwain said he would share details if the situation becomes "unmanageable."
* Like Smart, McElwain doesn't have any thoughts on the "World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party" nickname.
* McElwain knew Smart would be a successful head coach from their time as assistants at Alabama.
* Georgia's offensive line has done an excellent job of putting guys in place, per McElwain.
